For those of you who are interested, Bill Moyers has posted an exhaustive analysis of the leadup to our invasion of Iraq and the cynical manipulation of the press and public by George W. Bush and his cronies in and outside the government that led to public acceptance of the need for the war. The URL to see the broadcast is http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/index-flash.html. Keep clicking on "Next story" arrow until "Buying the War" shows in the side window, then click on that.

This expose has been made into a DVD. I have ordered a copy of it, although it is a bit expensive (~$34 including sales tax and shipping, if I remember right). The URL to buy the DVD is http://www.shoppbs.org/product/index.jsp?productId=2715483&cp=2408224&parentPage=family. I'll post again when the DVD arrives (which will be ~June 20) and ask if anyone is interested in seeing it.

When I click on the first URL above, PBS says that it is unable to find the page, but that is a PBS error. I copied the URL directly from the PBS site when I was visiting there and pasted it into this message, and I have returned to the page and found that it is still there and still has the same URL. My advice: Google PBS Moyers "Buying the War" and go from there.

Clicking on the second URL works OK.
