To counter the myth that other countries are suffering under their state-run medical systems, read "The Health of Nations" http://www.prospect.org/web/page.ww?section=root&name=ViewPrint&articleId=12683

This article in the May issue of The American Prospect shows how Canada, France, Britain, Germany, and our own Veterans Health Administration manage to cover everybody at less cost and with better care than we do.  Some highlights:
"Americans should recognize we have chosen to make health care costly.  Were we to prioritize differently, we could make it more affordable."
"What distinguishes our health-care system from other nations' is that we guarantee the health of our providers, not of our populace."

This article is well worth your time.

Health care reform in California remains high on the political agenda.
To keep up-to-date on the major proposals, analyses (including myths & facts), hearings, and news, see
http://calhealthreform.org/.

Also check out
