DEMOCRATIC CLUB OF SANTA MARIA VALLEY

P.O BOX 5205 Santa Maria CA 93456(805) 349-2708

Dear Fellow Democrats:

The Democratic Club of Santa Maria Valley has had a successful and entertaining 2006. Our membership is growing. This is an exciting time to be part of the club. It is that time again for our annual membership drive. Please print out a copy of this application and bring it to a General Meeting, drop it off at the Headquarters, or mail it to P.O. Box 5205 Santa Maria, Ca 93456-5205, or call for more information (805) 349-2708.
Several members have worked tirelessly to make this a great year for the club. The Action Team has effectively launched a letter writing campaign to local newspapers. The Democratic Headquarters has been operating for over a year. The club actively participated in the successful "The Get Out The Vote" campaign during the Election. TAP TV airs "Democrats Today" a DCSMV sponsored show on Public Access Television Channel 25 every Thursday 5 pm and Saturday 3 pm. Fundraising offers opportunities for enjoyable social events to meet like-minded people. Many dear friendships have been born from these events.

We have more than one way for Dems to stay informed of what is happening on the local level. For those who have email a weekly "Events to Remember List" is sent out by the club. The newsletter "The Proud Democrat" is published monthly giving you updates on club happenings and news of interest to Dems. The website as you can see is up and running with news and a calendar of events,
Becoming a member of the Democratic Club of Santa Maria Valley supports Democratic goals. There are also many ways to participate in the Democratic Club. We welcome all Democrats at our monthly meeting, donations, volunteering at the Headquarters, participating during an election, or joining us at a social event, just to name a few. The first step is to become a member.

Sincerely,

Donna Peabody, Membership Chair

Connie Daily, Membership Co-Chair

Yolanda de la Cruz, Membership Co-Chair

The DCSMV wants as many Democrats in the area as possible to join our Club. Toward this end, any Democrat can join the Club for as little as $1.00 per person per year. We hope that those who can afford to do so will enroll in one of the more expensive membership categories identified above and make additional donations at the time of joining as they may desire and can afford. While the Club needs more money, brought in by membership fees, there is no difference in the power of privileges provided to those members who pay more. All members have equal rights and privileges.

Participation is key to a strong Democratic presence the Santa Maria Valley.

Volunteering Opportunities Include

__Work the Headquarters Office __Letters to the Editor
